Pune Fake Aadhaar-Voter ID Case: Official, Complainant Clash
A young man named Prajwal Gupta noticed that his voting card address had been changed without his permission.
Someone used a fake identity card with his picture, but with a wrong number and address.
Because of this, he could not vote where he lives.
He told the election office, but he says nobody answered his messages.
The election officer says she did meet him and explained what to do.
He says that never happened.
Older rules let people change voter records without a strong phone-code check, though new checks started in September 2025.
Police are looking into the case, but no official case has been filed yet.

Gupta, 22, discovered on December 27, 2025 that his voter ID address had been shifted from Bhosari Assembly constituency to Indapur without his knowledge.
The address change was allegedly made using a forged Aadhaar card bearing Gupta's photograph and name but a fake Aadhaar number and address.
Kalaskar says the application predated the Aadhaar-based OTP verification the Election Commission introduced in September 2025; Gupta says he never received an OTP.
Police are conducting a preliminary inquiry into the complaint, and no FIR has been registered so far.
