Sewer work, rain leave Singrauli roads in ruins

Sewer work, rain leave Singrauli roads in ruins

In a place called Singrauli in India, the roads are in very bad shape.

Workers dug up the roads to put in new sewer pipes.

Then the rain came and made things worse.

Now there are big holes in the roads, some as deep as a person's knees.

Kids going to school, people walking, and drivers all have a hard time.

People in the countryside have the same problem.

The people who live there have complained many times, but no one fixed the roads.

The leader of the area, called the Collector, said contractors who dig without permission will be punished.

He also wants the contractors to pay money for the damage.

Everyone hopes the roads will be fixed soon.
