Lakshya Sen Leads India's Charge at BWF World Championships

The BWF World Championships is a very big badminton tournament, and this year it is happening in New Delhi, India.

It is the first time in 17 years that India is hosting this big event.

Some of India's best players are taking part, and they hope the home crowd will help them play well.

Lakshya Sen won a bronze medal at this tournament before, and even though his year has been up and down, he wants to go far this time.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty play men's doubles together, and they are practising hard to get used to the airflow inside the hall.

A young player named Ayush Shetty has a very hard first match because he has to play Shi Yuqi, the best badminton player in the world right now.

Earlier this year, people complained about the air quality, dirt, birds and stray animals at the venue during the India Open.

So the Sports Authority of India, the Badminton Association of India and other groups fixed the place up, and players say it is much better now.

Everyone is excited to play in front of home fans and to watch badminton back in India.
