40 People Kidnapped by Nigerian Gang

Over the weekend, a group of armed bandits kidnapped more than 40 people in the Mayanchi district of Zamfara state, Nigeria.

The attacks happened in 11 villages over three days.

A local resident named Alhaji Lauwali Abdullahi said that the bandits, led by a man called Kachalla Sa'idu, took people from four villages.

The local government chairman, Bello Jabaka, confirmed the kidnappings and said he is trying to get more security to the area.

Bandits in Nigeria often kidnap people for money.

They also do other bad things like stealing animals, taking money from farmers, and mining illegally.

In the past, Nigerian soldiers killed over 300 bandits in Zamfara state.

Kidnappings have made a lot of money for these groups, about $1.66 million in the last year.

Recently, more than 40 students and teachers were kidnapped in Oyo state, but they were rescued.
