Five Additional Judges Sworn In at Andhra Pradesh High Court

Five judges took an oath at the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

An oath is a promise to do an official job.

Chief Justice Lisa Gill led the ceremony at the court in Nelapadu, Amaravati.

The judges are Maheswara Rao Kuncheam, Thoota Chandra Dhana Sekar, Challa Gunaranjan, Avadhanam Hari Haranadha Sarma and Yadavalli Lakshmana Rao.

The Supreme Court Collegium recommended their appointments at a meeting on September 23.

President Droupadi Murmu then approved the appointments, and the Law and Justice Ministry issued a notification.

Three had earlier become additional judges in October 2024, and two did so in January 2025.

The article says the new notification appointed them as permanent judges.

Other judges, lawyers and judicial officers attended.
