Six Policemen Booked After Jeweller Dies During Raid

A 65-year-old jewellery trader named Umesh Gupta died during a police raid at his home.

His wife, Shanti Devi, accused six policemen of causing his death.

She said they took Gupta to the roof and threw him into a nearby building under construction.

She also alleged that police had demanded money from him.

She claimed that jewellery was taken from the house.

A murder case has now been filed against the six policemen.

Police said the raid was connected to an earlier theft case in which Gupta was named as an accused.

The raid was carried out with a court warrant and help from local police.
