Patna University Convocation: Honorary Degree Awarded, No DLitt/DSc
Patna University is having its big graduation ceremony!
Over a thousand students will get their degrees.
A former leader of the university, Girish Kumar Chaudhary, will get a special honorary degree for his work.
However, nobody will get the highest level degrees like Doctor of Letters or Science this year, because the university isn't offering them anymore.
Lots of smart people are graduating, including those with PhDs, and some will get gold medals for being the best.
A special guest, another university's boss, will give a speech.
Patna University will hold its annual convocation on May 31, awarding degrees to over 1,200 scholars.
Former VC Girish Kumar Chaudhary will receive an honorary doctorate, approved by the Governor.
No Doctor of Letters or Doctor of Science degrees will be awarded this year.
The university stopped registering candidates for DLitt/DSc degrees over a decade ago.
The convocation address will be delivered by Guru Ghasi Das University's VC, Alok Kumar Chakrawal.
