Andhra Minister Accuses YSRCP of Ghee Adulteration in TTD
Andhra Pradesh's Finance Minister, Payyavula Keshav, has accused the previous YSRCP government of adulterating ghee used in Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) laddus with animal fats.
He claimed that reports from the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and the Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) confirmed the presence of animal fats and other adulterants.
The minister alleged that the YSRCP government suppressed these reports and diluted procurement norms, leading to a scam worth Rs 240 crore.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has filed a chargesheet naming 36 people, including TTD officials and dairy experts, for their involvement in the adulteration.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has also spoken about the issue, stating that the previous government did not spare even the Sri Venkateswara temple by using substandard ingredients.
The YSRCP government has been accused of misleading the public by claiming the NDDB reports showed no adulteration, while the TDP claims the YSRCP suppressed the truth for two years.
