Trump Wants Alito, Thomas to Stay on Supreme Court
President Donald Trump said he doesn't want two important judges, Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas, to retire from the Supreme Court.
He hopes they stay because the court is currently deciding on big issues, like whether babies born in the US should automatically get citizenship.
The court has more conservative judges than liberal ones, and Trump wants to keep it that way.
President Donald Trump expressed his desire for Supreme Court justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas to remain on the bench.
The Supreme Court currently has a 6-3 conservative majority.
The court is considering the constitutionality of birthright citizenship, a right Trump is trying to roll back.
Trump's comments were made during a roundtable on farm subsidies in the White House.
The president hopes both justices will stay to maintain the conservative majority.
