Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Approves Mission to Expand AI Innovation
Uttar Pradesh has approved a new mission to help the state use artificial intelligence.
The mission will support research, training and new businesses that work with AI.
It aims to help at least 100 AI startups and train five lakh young people in AI skills.
The state plans to set up AI centres in all 75 districts.
These centres are intended to support learning, jobs and solutions to local problems.
The mission also plans to create an AI system that government departments can use.
Officials say AI used in important government services should be checked for safety, privacy and risks.
People will remain involved in overseeing high-impact AI systems.
The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved establishing and operating the Uttar Pradesh AI Mission (UP-AIM).
The mission aims to develop more than 100 AI use cases and scale 25 to 30 of them.
Targets include supporting at least 100 AI startups and training five lakh AI-fluent youth.
The state plans to establish AI innovation centres in all 75 districts and prepare 50,000 Forward Deployed AI Professionals.
UP-AIM will develop an AI Stack and a framework emphasizing security, privacy, risk assessment and human oversight.
