CBI Arrests Three in Alleged ₹40 Lakh Raigad Bribery Case

CBI Arrests Three in Alleged ₹40 Lakh Raigad Bribery Case

The CBI says three people were involved in an alleged bribery case in Raigad.

One accused was a senior CGST officer, another was a CGST superintendent, and the third was a private person.

The case involved a stone-quarrying company’s GST and royalty matter.

Investigators say ₹1.50 crore was initially demanded to settle the matter.

The alleged amount was later reduced to ₹40 lakh.

The CBI set a trap and caught the private person allegedly accepting the money.

The two government officials allegedly acknowledged the acceptance of the money.

All three people were arrested and were to be presented before a court.
