China's Military Purge: Xi's Grip on PLA Questioned
Some important generals in China's military have been removed from their jobs.
The government announced that these generals had done bad things and were being investigated.
This has raised questions about whether the leader of China, Xi Jinping, is still in charge of the military.
It seems that Xi himself promoted many of these generals.
Also, a big meeting that was supposed to happen earlier was delayed for a long time.
People are wondering if this shows there are problems or disagreements within the government and military.
Nine senior military officials were placed under investigation for disciplinary violations.
Investigations were initiated by the CMC’s Discipline Inspection Commission and Supervisory Commission.
The officials were accused of serious crimes, with large sums of money involved.
Questions arise about Xi Jinping's control over the PLA due to these purges.
Concerns exist that the purges might affect military readiness.
