CM Naidu Approves Urban Mobility Projects for Vijayawada, Vizag
The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has approved a big project to improve roads in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.
This project, called CRIP, will fix many problems like bad road junctions, waterlogging, and poor road conditions.
The government will work with private companies to build and maintain these roads for 10 years.
The project includes not just resurfacing roads but also making better footpaths, drains, street lights, and safe places for people to walk and park.
The total cost is almost Rs 478 crore, and the work will start soon.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu approved the first phase of the City Roads Improvement Programme (CRIP) for Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.
CRIP aims to address issues like weak junctions, waterlogging, and poor road standards through a public-private partnership model.
The project covers 110 km of roads, with Rs 306.95 crore allocated for Visakhapatnam and Rs 171.14 crore for Vijayawada.
Implementation will follow the DBFOT–Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), with 40% of the cost paid during construction and 60% over a 10-year maintenance period.
