Hooda Criticizes 7% Interest on Crop Loans, Demands Rollback
Former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda is unhappy with the government's decision to charge 7% interest on loans farmers take for their crops.
He says that when he was in charge, interest rates were much lower or even zero.
He believes this new interest rate hurts farmers financially.
Hooda also criticized the government for not securing enough water for Haryana despite having control in both the state and central government.
He wants the government to discuss these issues in a special assembly session.
Bhupinder Singh Hooda opposes the 7% interest rate on crop loans.
Hooda highlights his government's previous policy of zero interest on crop loans in Haryana.
The central government imposed the 7% interest rate through the Modified Interest Subvention Scheme.
The interest applies to Kisan Credit Card loans up to Rs 3 lakh.
