High Court Bans Hookah Service In Restaurant Smoking Areas

High Court Bans Hookah Service In Restaurant Smoking Areas

The High Court in Uttar Pradesh has banned restaurants from serving hookah in smoking areas.

A previous rule said these areas could be used only for smoking.

That rule also said restaurants could not provide other services there.

In a case called Narinder S. Chadha, the Supreme Court had implicitly allowed hookah service in smoking zones.

However, the Supreme Court said food and other eatery services were not allowed in those areas.

The High Court has now prohibited hookah service.

The issue is about what services restaurants may provide in designated smoking spaces.

The article does not give the date of the High Court decision.
