Video Warning Helps Mumbai Man Foil ₹12 Lakh Digital Scam

A 69-year-old man in Mumbai received calls from people pretending to be police and investigation officers.

They told him that his documents and phone number were connected to serious crimes.

The callers threatened him and said he could be arrested or lose his property.

They made him stay on video calls and ask permission before leaving home.

They then told him to send money to avoid arrest.

He sent them ₹12 lakh in two transfers.

His wife later saw a video explaining this type of scam.

The couple contacted the cybercrime authorities, and police began tracing the money and suspects.
