Gujarat Modifies Transfer Order for IAS Officer
A senior IAS officer named Mohammad Shahid was transferred in Gujarat.
First, he was moved from one department to another, but the next day, the government changed its mind and moved him to a different department.
This has happened before, where his transfer was changed within a week.
The reason seems to be that the government didn't know about his past connections with a former politician.
It's like when you move a toy to one place and then change your mind and move it somewhere else, but you do it twice.
IAS officer Mohammad Shahid was initially transferred from the Social Justice and Empowerment Department to the Tribal Development Department on December 23, 2023.
The transfer order was modified the next day, moving Shahid to the Cottage and Rural Industries Department with additional charges.
This is the second time Shahid's transfer has been changed within days of a reshuffle, similar to an incident in July 2018.
The reason for the changes is reportedly Shahid's perceived proximity to former Congress Chief Minister Harish Rawat and oversight in his case history.
Shahmeena Husain will continue to hold the additional charge of Principal Secretary, Tribal Development Department, until further orders.
