Nepal Election Commission Announces Schedule for March 5 Polls
Nepal is getting ready for a new election to choose its lawmakers.
The Election Commission has announced the dates for people to sign up to run for office, which is January 20.
If anyone wants to complain about a candidate, they can do that on January 21.
Candidates can also decide not to run anymore until January 23.
The actual voting will happen on March 5.
This election is happening because the old parliament was dissolved.
There are 275 seats in total in the parliament.
Some lawmakers are chosen by where they live, and others are chosen based on how many votes their party gets overall.
Nepal's Election Commission has published the schedule for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The election for the House of Representatives is set to take place on March 5.
Candidates will file their nominations on January 20, with deadlines for protests and withdrawals following shortly after.
