Delhi Eases Tree Pruning Rules for Emergencies
Imagine a tree is about to fall and cause harm.
Delhi now allows people to cut it down quickly in emergencies, like if it's blocking a road or is about to damage a building.
This is allowed under a special rule.
However, they must report it to the city within a day.
People have to show pictures and explain why they cut the tree.
If they misuse this rule, they could get in trouble.
Delhi allows RWAs and individuals to prune trees in emergencies.
Emergency pruning is permitted under Section 8 of the Delhi Preservation of Trees Act, 1994.
Action is allowed if trees threaten life, property, or traffic.
The Tree Officer must be notified within 24 hours after action.
Misuse of the emergency clause will result in legal consequences.
