Opposition MPs Protest Over Student Crackdown, Ram Temple Theft
Opposition MPs in India are planning a protest at the Parliament building on Thursday.
They want to talk about a police attack on student protesters that happened on July 20, where the police used pellet guns.
They also want to investigate how money given to the Ram Temple might have been misused.
The protest will happen just before the Parliament talks about a new law that will make it harder for people to cheat on exams.
The protest is led by leaders from the Samajwadi Party and Congress, and they want the Supreme Court to look into the police attack.
Opposition MPs plan protest at Makar Dwar on Thursday over July 20 police action against student protesters and alleged Ram Temple donation misappropriation.
The protest is scheduled just before the Rajya Sabha debates the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026.
Samajwadi Party MPs earlier protested the alleged misappropriation of offerings at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, demanding a high‑level investigation.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge called the July 20 incident a "lethal attack" and urged an independent Supreme Court‑monitored probe.
Rajya Sabha will discuss the Anti‑Paper Leak Bill, which strengthens exam‑malpractice laws with a special task force and fast‑track courts.
