Pope Leo XIV Urges Distinction Between Human Art and AI
Pope Leo XIV says art made by people is different from content made by computers.
He says computers can use patterns from many images to generate new things.

He believes people should be able to tell the difference.
The pope also wants the Church to work more closely with artists and cultural groups.
He says this cooperation can help protect what is human as artificial intelligence becomes more common.
Pope Leo XIV said it is increasingly urgent to distinguish human art from machine-generated work.
He described an ontological difference between art and outputs generated through statistical calculations.
He said algorithms lack the human spark present in human art.
