ISL clubs seek government funds and relegation stay
The 14 teams in the Indian Super League (ISL) have asked the government for help.
They want money from public companies to support them and a break from being kicked out of the league for a few years.
This is because they are having a hard time with money and want to make sure the league stays strong.
They also want to make sure the upcoming season is fair and doesn't scare away investors.
The teams think this will help them plan better and keep investing in the league.
14 ISL clubs jointly wrote to the Sports Ministry seeking financial relief.
Clubs proposed interim commercial support through Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
Requested a temporary stay on relegation for 3 to 5 seasons.
Upcoming season starts February 14 with compressed timelines.
Clubs warned that relegation could undermine sporting integrity and deter investors.
