Bengaluru KR Market Plans Digital Vehicle And Goods Fees

Bengaluru’s KR Market is planning a new way to collect money from goods vehicles and traders.

Large trucks would pay Rs 350 for one entry and exit.

Four-wheeler goods vehicles would pay Rs 100, while three-wheelers would pay Rs 75.

Traders would also pay separate charges for goods they bring into the market.

Many fruits, vegetables and other listed products would cost Rs 5 per bag or unit.

Eggs, fish, chicken and other meat products would generally cost Rs 10 per box or tray.

People would usually need to pay before entering or doing business.

Cameras, smart gates and digital payments would help manage the system.

The proposal also includes penalties for avoiding fees or declaring less goods than brought in.
