AIIMS Nagpur to house Maharashtra's First BSL-3 Lab
Imagine a super safe lab, like a super secure room in a hospital, being built in Nagpur.
This lab, called a BSL-3 lab, will be the first of its kind in a medical college in Maharashtra.
It's designed to test and study very dangerous germs, like those that can cause Nipah or Zika, without letting them spread.
This means doctors can find out what's making people sick much faster, helping everyone in the area stay healthy.
This lab is a big step to help fight against outbreaks.
It will also train other people to help.
It's like creating a superhero base to protect everyone from bad germs.
AIIMS Nagpur will establish Maharashtra's first BSL-3 laboratory in a medical college.
The lab aims to quickly detect and respond to dangerous infections such as Nipah and Zika.
The BSL-3 lab will serve patients, train microbiologists, and technicians.
It will be equipped to handle pathogens causing severe diseases transmissible from animals to humans.
The project is funded under the PM-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission with Rs 30 crore allocated.
