India’s Green Energy Corridor-III Targets Grid Bottlenecks

India’s Green Energy Corridor-III Targets Grid Bottlenecks

India is building more solar and wind power, but electricity must also be carried to the places where people use it.

The Green Energy Corridor Phase-III plan is meant to improve the power lines inside states.

It also includes batteries that can store electricity and release it later.

The scheme has a total planned outlay of Rs 1.86 lakh crore.

Most of the money is for transmission, while Rs 50,000 crore is allocated to battery storage.

The plan aims to help move up to 135 GW of renewable power by FY33.

Better connections could help prevent renewable projects from being delayed because the grid cannot carry their power.

How much of the opportunity becomes real will depend on contracts, construction and completion.
