Ireland's Women to Hockey's Elite; India Relegated
The Irish women's hockey team is going to play with the best teams in the world in a league called the FIH Hockey Pro League.
This is because India's team didn't do well and got sent down to a lower level.
Ireland earned the spot by playing well and winning a different tournament.
The coach is excited because it's a great chance to improve.
New Zealand's men's team might also join.
This opportunity comes as they prepare to qualify for the 2026 FIH World Cup.
Ireland's women's hockey team will join the FIH Hockey Pro League in 2025-26.
India's women's team finished last in the Pro League and was relegated.
Ireland earned its spot after winning the FIH Hockey Nations Cup and New Zealand declined.
The Irish coach called it an 'invaluable opportunity' for growth.
New Zealand's men's team may also join, while Pakistan may replace them.
