Gulf Air Ordered to Compensate Former MLA for Travel Denial

Nizamudeen, a former politician, was denied boarding a Gulf Air flight in Moscow because his passport only had one name.

Despite having flown to Moscow with the same passport, the airline denied him travel, causing stress and missed meetings.

A commission ruled the airline should pay him about ₹1.4 lakh with interest, refund the ticket cost, pay ₹1 lakh for damages, and ₹10,000 for litigation costs because the airline did not follow rules regarding single names on passports.
