Hindu man dies after mob chase in Bangladesh
A man named Mithun Sarkar was chased by a group of people who said he stole something.
He was so scared that he ran into a canal and couldn't swim out.
Sadly, he died.
This happened in a place called Bangladesh, where there have been many other bad things happening to people like Mithun.
In December and January, there were lots of fights and people got hurt or killed.
It's been a very sad time for many people there.
The government says the violence is because of political fights, but others say it's because people are being targeted for their religion.
Mithun Sarkar, a Hindu man, died after jumping into a canal to escape a mob accusing him of theft in Naogaon, Bangladesh.
His body was recovered with the assistance of the fire service, and the incident is being thoroughly investigated.
This incident is part of a rise in violence against religious minorities in Bangladesh, with multiple attacks reported in December 2024 and January 2025.
