Manufacturing Sector Fuels Uttar Pradesh's Economic Growth
Imagine Uttar Pradesh wants to become a super-rich state!
A big part of making money is from factories, which are part of the 'secondary sector'.
Factories make things, but they only grew a little last year.
Places like Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad have the most factories and contribute the most to the state's money.
More factories are opening, and more people are working in them, including in smaller businesses.
The state is trying to attract even more factories with special plans to help grow industries.
The secondary sector contributes 26.1% to the State Gross Value Added (SGVA).
Manufacturing contributes 10.2% to the state's GDP.
Manufacturing growth was 1.3% over the previous year.
The number of factories increased by 15.6% in 2023-24.
MSME manufacturing worker numbers increased by 60.8%.
