HCA to expand cricket infrastructure across all Telangana districts
The Hyderabad Cricket Association is the group that runs cricket in Hyderabad.
It now wants to bring cricket to every part of Telangana state.
A special team of five people has been chosen to lead this work.
Their job is to find land and build cricket offices in 31 districts.
Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy are not included because they are already close to the main office.
The leader of the team is T. Sheshnarayan, who has worked with cricket for over 40 years.
The team studied how states like Jharkhand and West Bengal run cricket.
They will ask schools and colleges if cricket can use their grounds for games.
They also hope TG20 league team owners will help invest.
If it works, every district may get its own cricket league and its own cricket association.
Hyderabad Cricket Association formed a five-member District Cricket Infrastructure Development Committee (DCIDC) to establish offices in 31 districts of Telangana.
Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts are excluded as they are within reach of HCA headquarters at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.
DCIDC chairman T. Sheshnarayan announced at a press conference on Wednesday that the panel will identify locations for district-centric HCA offices.
The committee will approach schools, colleges and institutions to lease grounds and may rope in TG20 franchise owners to invest in their districts.
HCA aims for each district to eventually have its own league and an association affiliated to the HCA, with procedures set by the Single Member Committee.
