The attack happened at a Forest Department office in Devendra Nagar.

The dog had been chasing a cat.

The girl went near the cat, and the dog attacked her.

She was badly hurt on her face, jaw and below her eyes.

Doctors first treated her in Devendra Nagar and then sent her to a private hospital in Satna.

Her condition was reported to be critical.

A health official warned people to get medical help quickly after dog bites because rabies can be deadly.
