ABVP Protest Over Christ University Promotion Policy Enters Second Day

ABVP Protest Over Christ University Promotion Policy Enters Second Day

Students at Christ University’s Ghaziabad law school are upset about a promotion rule.

The rule says students must clear certain earlier courses before moving to the fourth year.

Thirteen students were not promoted because they still had backlogs.

Students and ABVP members protested outside the campus for a second day.

They said attendance problems, illness and difficult examination schedules contributed to the backlogs.

The university said law students follow a separate policy because of Bar Council of India rules.

It also said students had been given time to clear their backlogs.

The university will send the students’ memorandum to its Examination Committee on Monday.

Police were present, but nobody was injured and no violent clash occurred.
