Sasihithlu Beach Cleanup Collects 12.75 Tonnes of Waste

Sasihithlu Beach Cleanup Collects 12.75 Tonnes of Waste

More than 500 people helped clean Sasihithlu beach on Friday.

They took part in the cleanup to mark Gandhi Jayanti.

The volunteers included students, local residents and members of community groups.

Together, they collected about 12.75 tonnes of rubbish, including plastic, glass, rubber and thermocol.

The waste was gathered in one place and sorted for disposal.

Organisers said keeping the beach clean should be a regular effort, not just a one-day activity.

The gram panchayat plans to hold two cleanups each month.

Participants also heard that everyone can help protect beaches and marine life by reducing waste and disposing of it responsibly.
