Gujarat Honors Vajpayee with Statue, Renames Schools
In Gujarat, a big bronze statue of the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was put up in Gandhinagar on his birthday.
The statue is 12 feet tall and was made by a famous sculptor.
The government also decided to name five schools in Ahmedabad after wise sages from ancient times.
This was done to teach children about India's history and culture.
The schools are in an area that is part of the constituency of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The idea is to make children proud of their country and learn about important people from the past.
A 12-feet bronze statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee was unveiled in Gandhinagar on his birth anniversary.
The statue was designed by renowned sculptor Ram V Sutar and is located at the Ch-3 circle.
Five schools in the Nava Vadaj area of Ahmedabad were renamed after sages like Sati Anasuya, Atri Rishi, and others.
The renaming initiative was suggested by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to promote cultural heritage and patriotism.
The statue project was funded under the special grant for public amenities and development works in the 2024-25 budget.
