Rs 9 lakh crore grid upgrade boosts transformer stocks
India wants to build a lot of new power plants and a big grid to carry the electricity.
To do that, it will spend a huge amount of money on transformers, which are like big batteries that move power.
Three big companies – CG Power, TARIL, and Atlanta Electricals – are making more transformers.
They are building new factories and adding a lot of capacity so they can keep up with the demand.
This helps India grow its clean energy and power homes, schools, and businesses.
India plans ₹9 lakh crore investment in transmission infrastructure by 2032 to support 500 GW non‑fossil capacity target.
Domestic transformer market projected to grow from US$3.3–3.4B FY25 to US$8.2–8.5B FY29 (~₹80,000 crore).
CG Power expanding transformer capacity to 75,000 MVA, adding 45,000 MVA in a new plant, accelerating to 12–14 months.
TARIL holds ₹6,630 crore order book, aims to increase capacity to 75,000 MVA and improve margins via backward integration.
Atlanta Electricals increased capacity 4× to 63,060 MVA, targeting 5,000 MVA new plant for inverter‑duty transformers to meet renewable and EV demand.
