Uganda Shuts Down Internet Ahead of Election
Uganda's government has turned off the internet and mobile services all over the country just before an important election.
They want to stop people from spreading false information and cheating in the election.
The president, Yoweri Museveni, who has been in power for a very long time, is trying to win another term.
Some people who support the opposite side, like a famous singer named Bobi Wine, have been arrested and hurt.
The government also told some groups that help people to stop working because they said bad things about the government.
People are using a special app called Bitchat to talk to each other without the internet.
The United Nations says the election is happening in a bad environment where people are being scared and hurt.
Ugandan authorities shut down internet and mobile services nationwide two days before the election.
The Uganda Communications Commission ordered the shutdown to curb misinformation, disinformation, and electoral fraud.
