GTA 6 Extended Look Becomes Netflix’s Most-Watched Title
Netflix showed a longer preview of the video game GTA 6.
The preview lasted 27 minutes and used footage recorded from the game.
About 31.1 million Netflix views were counted by the end of the week.
That made it Netflix’s most-watched title for that week.
The video also ranked first among Netflix’s English-language films in 87 countries.
Rockstar Games posted the same video on YouTube six hours later.
The preview showed the characters Jason and Lucia in the fictional city of Vice City.
GTA 6 is scheduled to come out on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
Netflix’s 27-minute GTA 6 extended look attracted 31.1 million views by August 30.
The special ranked No. 1 on Netflix’s English-language film list in 87 of 93 tracked countries.
Netflix’s view count was based on Completed Viewing Equivalents, calculated from total hours watched divided by runtime.
Rockstar Games uploaded the same footage to YouTube six hours later, where it reached 17 million views by Tuesday.
The in-game footage introduced Jason and Lucia’s gameplay options and preceded the game’s November 19 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
