India and US Discuss Nuclear Expansion and Energy Cooperation

India and US Discuss Nuclear Expansion and Energy Cooperation

India’s Power Minister Manohar Lal met US Energy Secretary Chris Wright in Houston.

They talked about how India plans to produce more nuclear energy.

They also discussed the electricity needed for artificial intelligence, powerful computers and data centres.

Both sides discussed working together on clean energy and stronger energy systems.

They also talked about new energy technologies.

US companies are interested in investing in India’s nuclear sector.

India wants to reach 100 gigawatts of atomic energy capacity by 2047.

The meeting took place as India increased purchases of US liquefied petroleum gas and liquefied natural gas because supplies from traditional Gulf suppliers were disrupted.
