PCMC Distributes Branded Educational Kits to Students via DBT
Imagine a school giving out free school supplies.
That's what the PCMC is doing for over 15,000 students!
Instead of handing out items directly, they give students and parents special digital vouchers on their phones, like a gift card.
These vouchers can be used to buy the school kits from specific stores.
This makes getting the supplies faster and easier.
So far, they've given out about 4 crore rupees worth of these kits, which include branded items for different grades.
Over 15,000 students in PCMC schools received educational kits.
The kits were distributed via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) initiative.
The digital e-RUPI platform, in collaboration with Bank of Maharashtra, was used.
Students and parents received QR-code-based digital vouchers.
Educational materials worth Rs 4 crore have been disbursed.
