Gold worth Rs 1.13 crore seized at Ahmedabad airport
Customs officers at Ahmedabad airport stopped a tour operator and his passengers who came from Abu Dhabi.
They found gold hidden in the passengers' pockets.
The gold was worth a lot of money, over Rs 1.13 crore.
The officers think the tour operator gave the gold to the passengers to smuggle it into India.
The tour operator was arrested.
This is not the first time gold has been found hidden at the airport.
Earlier, gold was found in a woman's handbag and inside another woman's burqa.
Even more gold was found hidden in a speaker box of an airplane.
The officers are still investigating to find out more about these smuggling attempts.
Ahmedabad Customs seized 770.33 grams of 24-carat gold worth Rs 1.13 crore from a tour operator and his passengers arriving from Abu Dhabi.
The gold was concealed in the passengers' pockets and was allegedly handed over by the tour operator for smuggling.
The tour operator was arrested under the Customs Act, 1962.
This seizure is part of a series of gold smuggling cases detected at Ahmedabad airport, particularly on routes from the Gulf.
Previous seizures include gold found in a woman's handbag, inside a burqa, and hidden in a speaker box of an airplane.
