India Post and SIDBI partner to verify micro enterprises
India Post and SIDBI have teamed up to check small businesses that are not officially registered.
They will use over 1.64 lakh post offices and trained staff to visit these businesses, check their details, and take pictures to make sure everything is correct.
This will help these small businesses get loans more easily.
The agreement will last for two years and can be extended.
They will also make sure all the information is kept safe and secure.
India Post and SIDBI signed an MoU to verify informal micro enterprises on the Udyam Assist Platform.
The verification process includes checking business details, location, and geo-tagged evidence using India Post's network of over 1.64 lakh post offices.
SIDBI developed a mobile app for real-time data collection and secure uploading of geo-tagged photographs.
The MoU will be in force for two years, from December 31, 2025, to December 30, 2027, and can be extended by mutual consent.
The collaboration aims to improve data quality and help small informal businesses access formal credit.
