ICAI-ISCA Move Could Expand Indian Chartered Accountants’ Opportunities Abroad

India’s chartered accountant institute exchanged letters with a Singaporean accounting institute.

ICAI President CA Prasanna Kumar D said this was an important step.

The two institutes are working toward a full mutual recognition agreement, or MRA.

Such an agreement could help Indian Chartered Accountants have their qualifications recognized more easily.

It may be especially useful for accountants working in Singapore.

It could also make it easier for professionals to move between countries.

The agreement is still described as a move toward a full MRA.

Its final benefits will depend on how the process develops.
