J&K Authorities Issue Notice to Amazon, Firm Over Fake Carpets
Some companies were selling fake Kashmiri silk carpets online, pretending they were the real thing.
The government of Jammu & Kashmir found out and sent a notice to Amazon and Jewel Carpet.com, who were selling them.
They said it was unfair because the carpets were being sold way too cheap for what they were.
The government told the companies to stop selling the fake carpets, remove any ads that lied about them, and say sorry to the public.
The real carpets cost a lot more than the fake ones being sold.
Jammu & Kashmir authorities issued notices to Amazon and Jewel Carpet.com.
The notices address the sale of counterfeit carpets misrepresented as authentic Kashmiri silk.
Authorities allege unfair trade practices and misinterpretation of facts.
The companies are directed to remove misleading advertisements and cease sales.
A public apology and written undertaking are demanded within three days.
