MP East Discom Rewards Residents Rs 15.50 Lakh for Reporting Electricity Irregularities
Imagine a special app called V-Mitra that helps find people who are not paying for electricity correctly.
People can use this app to tell the electricity company if they see something strange.
The electricity company checks these tips.
If the tips are correct and show a problem, the company gives money to the people who reported it.
This has happened many times, and the company has given out a lot of money to those who helped.
They even found problems with many electricity meters and made people pay what they owed.
Some employees who didn't stop these problems also had to pay a penalty.
This app is helping the company find and fix issues with electricity.
MP East Discom has rewarded residents with Rs. 15.50 lakh for providing information on electricity connection irregularities.
The rewards were given after 3,150 electricity connections were found to have irregularities during spot inspections.
