Scientific Survey Assesses Wildlife and Biodiversity in Kothagudem Forests

Forest researchers are studying animals and plants in the Kothagudem forests.

The survey began on August 20 and will last about a month.

It mainly covers the Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary.

Ten students are working with Forest department officials.

They are looking at where animals live and what dangers they face.

The area has pangolins, king cobras, deer, gaur, sloth bears and crocodiles.

Officials are especially concerned about hunting and illegal wildlife trade.

They also want to understand threats to pangolins and other animals.

The results will be used to improve wildlife protection and habitats, including areas visited by tigers.
