Political Clash Over Telangana's Water and Finances
There's a big argument between the BRS and Congress parties in India about who is doing better for the state of Telangana.
The BRS leader, KCR, says the Congress is not doing enough to protect Telangana's river water and is causing harm to the state.
He plans to hold big meetings to tell people about this.
The Congress leader, Revanth Reddy, says that it was actually the BRS who did a bad job by giving away too much water to another state and pushing Telangana into a lot of debt.
The Congress irrigation minister, Uttam Kumar Reddy, also blamed the BRS for the failure of the Kaleshwaram project, saying it was poorly designed and left the state with huge debts.
Both sides are blaming each other and want to have a big debate in the government meeting to prove who is right.
BRS President K Chandrashekar Rao accused the Congress government of not raising its voice against the Centre for sending back the DPR of the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme.
Congress Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy challenged KCR to a debate in the Assembly on who mortgaged the interests of Telangana to Andhra Pradesh regarding river water sharing.
BRS plans to hold three big public meetings in January in Rangareddy, Mahbubnagar, and Nalgonda districts to expose the government.
Congress alleges that the BRS government pushed Telangana into a debt trap by borrowing over Rs 8 lakh crore in loans.
Telangana Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy blamed former CM KCR for the Kaleshwaram project's failure, stating it was poorly designed and left the state with massive debts.
