Israel Kills Hamas Commander Raed Saad in Gaza Strike

Israel recently carried out a strike in Gaza City that targeted a senior Hamas commander named Raed Saad.

This attack happened on Saturday, December 13, 2024, and killed four to five people while wounding three to twenty-five others.

Raed Saad was a significant figure in Hamas, responsible for making weapons and leading the group's operations.

The strike occurred despite a ceasefire agreement that was put in place in October 2025.

This ceasefire has allowed some Palestinians to return to Gaza City, but there have still been incidents of violence.

Israel says it needs to take these actions to protect itself from future attacks by Hamas, while Hamas views these strikes as violations of the ceasefire and acts of aggression.

Gaza has suffered extensive destruction, with over 2 million residents displaced and more than 70,650 Palestinians killed in the two-year conflict.
