ABVP seeks coaching regulation, fee caps and student safety measures

ABVP says coaching centers have become a large parallel education system.

It wants these centers to follow stronger safety and financial rules.

The group has asked for limits on fees and on how many students can stay or study in one place.

It also wants local officials to regularly inspect coaching centers and student housing.

ABVP says unsafe buildings and poor oversight have harmed students.

It pointed to incidents in Delhi, Surat, Pune and Kota.

The organisation has created a website where students can report unsafe hostels and paying guest homes.

It says it is also surveying about 44,000 student accommodation facilities across India.
