DDA Reschedules Majnu Ka Tilla Demolition Drive
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) wants to tear down some buildings at Majnu Ka Tilla, near the Yamuna River.
This area is home to many Pakistani Hindu refugees.
They had to postpone their plans earlier because the police were busy with a religious event called the Kanwar Yatra.
Now, the DDA is planning to try again.
They are working with the police and other groups to make sure everything goes smoothly and follows the rules set by the National Green Tribunal.
The goal is to remove the buildings and help the area near the river become healthy again.
DDA plans to conduct a demolition drive at Majnu Ka Tilla.
The drive was previously postponed due to the Kanwar Yatra.
The demolition targets the Yamuna floodplains, home to Pakistani Hindu refugees.
DDA submitted a status report to the NGT regarding the re-planned demolition.
