Tata Steel India Reports Higher Q2 Production and Deliveries

Tata Steel made more crude steel in India in the second quarter of FY27 than it did a year earlier.

Production was 6.21 million tonnes, which was 10% higher.

It also delivered 5.97 million tonnes of steel to customers.

The article text says deliveries were up 7% from a year earlier and 15% from the previous quarter.

The headline’s 15% figure therefore refers to a different comparison period than the 7% figure in the text.

Tata Steel said production increased at its Jamshedpur and Kalinganagar facilities.

It said deliveries were supported by its product mix and steady demand despite seasonal rains.

Production and deliveries were also higher over the first half of FY27 than a year earlier.
